Dear Parents and Scholars,
After several consultations between the SCSA and the SC Public Charter School District, we have mutually agreed that it would be best to have an early release day on Monday, August 21st. This decision is based upon concerns with the solar eclipse and the amount of traffic that will be in downtown Columbia on this day. As a result, we have decided that students will be dismissed at 11:55 am, so they can go home and enjoy viewing the eclipse with their families. During the half day on Monday, teachers will be discussing the elipse and relating it to their specific content area. Prior to the noon dismissal, students will receive a moon-pie snack and a pair of solar eclipse glasses for viewing the eclipse. Remember all students must be picked up Monday between 11:55 am - 12:30 pm. There will be no Atom After school care on this day. There will also be no canteen served. If you have any questions, please contact the main office at 803-227-6422. Thank you and #GOATOMS!
Sincerely,
Pat Padgett
