Culture of Excellence Award Recipients (September 2017)

The SC Science Academy is proud to announce its September Culture of Excellence Award winners. Each month the faculty and staff of SCSA elect one student from 6th, 7th, 8th, and secondary education grades that consistently embody the qualities of a high achieving scholar and responsible young adult. This month’s winners are Jadann Hill in 6th grade, Nakoda Thomas in 7th grade, David Gabrielli in 8th grade, and Mikayla Lopez-Waymer for secondary scholars.
The faculty and staff also elect a member of the Atom Family that personifies the qualities of integrity and devotion for student achievement. This month’s selection is Mrs. Mary Payne, Office Manager. Mrs. Payne explained, “I'm tremendously honored to receive the Culture of Excellence Award for September. It is truly a special moment for me and I’m grateful to have been chosen from so many of my peers who are very deserving of this award. We have a wonderful staff this year and I enjoy working with each and every one of them. Being told you are appreciated is one of the most special and uplifting things you can hear. This has been a great year so far and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for SC Science Academy with this talented group of students and staff.”
SCSA's Executive Director believes, “I continue to be amazed at the teaching and learning I am seeing at SC Science Academy. These students have accepted responsibility for their success and have raised the bar for academic excellence in our school. It is students such as these that inspire teachers and enhance the learning process. We are fortunate to have these students and their peers.”
